Because walking out empty-handed here is almost impossible
If you’re in Hong Kong and want a little (or a lot of) retail therapy, Causeway Bay is the place. It’s fast-paced, jam-packed, and overflowing with everything from designer labels to affordable street finds. I’ve been here a few times and let’s just say I’ve never left empty-handed. Ever!
Here are a few of my favourite spots in Causeway Bay, whether I’m in the mood for a full-day spree or a quick browse.
Times Square
One of the most iconic malls in Hong Kong. It's massive, multi-level, and full of both luxury and mid-range brands. The elevators are worth mentioning too—there’s an express lift that takes you straight to the upper floors (10F and up), which is perfect when you’re heading for lunch or dinner. On my last visit, my auntie and cousin took me to a Thai restaurant on 11F-great food and a great mid-shopping break. The dining options are actually pretty solid all around here..
Lee Theatre Plaza
Just around the corner from Times Square, this mall is a bit more under the radar but definitely worth stepping into. It has a smart mix of international fashion brands, skincare shops, and lifestyle stores, all without the heavy foot traffic. I love stopping by here when I want a more relaxed shopping moment. You’ll still find big names, just with fewer crowds.
Hysan Place
Sleek, stylish, and super curated. Hysan Place has a good mix of high-street fashion, skincare, lifestyle brands, and tech. The crowd here is younger, and the vibe is very now. I always end up on the higher floors, not just for the shopping but for the food court, which has some surprisingly good options with a view. It’s modern, easy to navigate, and great for when you want everything under one roof but with better lighting and cooler music.
Brand Off (just across from Hysan Place)
Okay, this one’s technically not in a mall, but it’s directly opposite Hysan Place and worth the stop. Brand Off is a popular Japanese secondhand luxury bags. Think Hermès, Chanel, Goyard, Louis Vuitton -just sitting there, gently pre-loved and waiting for a second chance. Don’t worry if Hermès once refused to sell you a Birkin. Here, they’ll beg you to take one home.
SOGO Department Store
This Japanese-style department store is a local institution. It has 18 floors packed with everything from beauty counters and fashion labels to electronics, cookware, and even groceries in the basement. It gets busy, especially during sales (hello, SOGO Thankful Week), but that’s part of the experience. I love getting lost in here, it’s organised chaos in the best way.
Fashion Walk
This area feels more relaxed, even stylish in a low-key way. You’ll find curated boutiques, independent labels, lifestyle shops, and cafés with outdoor seating. The last time I came, I noticed quite a few influencers shooting content here, and I get why, the vibe is very street-style-meets-chill. Great place for unexpected finds and people-watching.
Jardine’s Crescent Market
Just off the main drag, this street market is a classic. Come here for accessories, budget-friendly fashion, socks, hair clips, phone accessories, and those fun little things you didn’t know you needed. Don’t expect polished but do expect personality.
What I love about Causeway Bay is how it blends shiny malls with street-style charm. You can start your day at SOGO, pop across to Hysan Place, browse for a bag across the street, grab lunch at Times Square’s upper floors, and wrap it up at Fashion Walk… all without needing a taxi.
It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back—and somehow always gives you something new.
